At a Democratic fund raising event last week president Biden refered to MAGA-loving Republicans as Semi-Fascist.
…”And what we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of the extreme MAGA philosophy,” he said. “It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the – I’m going to say something, it’s like Semi-Fascism.”
The next day, at a Democratic rally in a Maryland high school auditorium, he said:
“I respect conservative Republicans. I don’t respect MAGA Republicans…
“I’ll close with this. We’re at a serious moment in our nation’s history. The MAGA Republicans don’t just threaten our personal rights and economic security. They’re a threat to our very democracy. They refuse to accept the will of the people. They embrace political violence. They don’t believe in democracy.
“This is why, in this moment, those of you who love this country – Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans – we must be stronger, more determined, and more committed to saving America than the MAGA Republicans are to destroying America.”
Upon hearing these remarks, conservatives everywhere clutched their pearls as if Sleepy Joe had threatened to castrate them personally. The reactionary pundits at Fox News soiled their diapers collectively.
Alleged anti-Trumper in 2016, Fox News contributor and managing editor of The Fecalist – turned Trump bootlicker – Molly Hemmingway, told Kaleigh MacKenany:
“The more that he experiences some of his own decline with his mental faculties, the more that jerkiness comes out. This is more hateful than the worst thing Donald Trump ever said and it’s being said about tens of millions of Americans. He’s trying to walk it back by saying it’s only about Trump supporters, but that’s just another word for saying Republicans. Republicans support their previous president’s, including the most recent president, and this is just incredibly dangerous rhetoric that nobody who purports to lead the country should be saying against half the country.”
Mediaite pointed out that Trump has said worse, such as when he called Mexicans coming across the border “rapists and murderers,” assuming that “some of them were good people.” And all of the birther nonsense he peddled for his racist supporters.
Did Hemmingway have anything negative to say about any of it? I have no idea. It probably didn’t get her panties in a bunch.
CPAC’s Mercedes Schlapp told Fox News:
“If I were Democrats, I would reevaluate these talking points, especially when Joe Biden is going out there calling those MAGA Republicans Semi-Fascist. I mean, that is a complete insult and something that I think is anti-American and really he is no longer the one that is a unifier in the country.”
Human nasal spray, Mark Levin said this ridiculous shit on his radio show:
“The dehumanization of your opponents!” he screamed. “It’s extraordinarily dangerous, this is what regimes do, totalitarian regimes. They dehumanize their opponents! This is what Biden, again, a street thug sleazeball politician, that’s all he’s ever been, that’s all he ever will be. That’s what the history books will say, if they tell truth.
“He’s trying to dehumanize Republicans!” he continued screaming. “Dehumanize people, certain state legislatures, dehumanize president Trump, dehumanize Trump’s supporters, dehumanize DeSantis! That’s what he does! If you’re a semi-fascist” you’ve been dehumanized! And all this targeting of Trump is, again, to send a signal! Dehumanization is a big deal and that’s what genocidal regimes do! Jews aren’t human beings, they’re just not ( ???? ), or at one time, blacks aren’t human beings! Some parts of the world it’s still treated that way! Or for the Taliban, women aren’t human beings and so it justifies in their minds all kinds of horrendous, inhuman acts!”

As Amanda Marcotte points out in a recent article for Salon, Trump with the aid of his sycophants in Congress and the media, attempted to overturn an election.
"One can already hear the crying and gnashing of teeth: Thursday night, President Joe Biden called MAGA Ideology "semi-fascism".. "It's all noise. Strapped to a lie detector, everyone would have to admit the only problem with Biden's statement is he overloaded it with caveats. First in the use of the word "semi," but also in limiting his remarks to "MAGA," as if that's a separate category from Republicans in general. In reality, the number of Republicans who won't support Trump in another run, is as the last election showed, frighteningly small. "There is no need to dance around the subject: Trump is a fascist, as evidenced by his Mussolini-style effort to overthrow the U.S. and install himself illegally in power..."
I have no problem with dehumanizing these people. They’re not patriots. They are fascists.
