After America re-elected their favorite Con Man back into the White, Dan Abrams embarrassed himself during an appearance of Press Club with Aidan McLaughlin.
At the time of the interview, Abrams was in the process of leaving his Dan Abrams Live show on NewsNation, looking to spend more time with Mediate, and his SIRIUSXM radio show.
“The problem is the folks who just want to criticize because they hate Donald Trump so much. And I do think there is a level of Trump Derangement Syndrome. People on the right use that term, I think there’s validity to that. I do think there is a level of Trump Derangement Syndrome among some that they are incapable of giving him credit for anything. And you want to restore credibility? Try and call balls and strikes. Give him credit when it’s warranted, recognize successes. I think that allows you to criticize as well.”
The problem is the media that is rightly and correctly criticizing Trump for his corruption. That’s the real problem according to Dan Abrams. Not the corruption itself.
The media’s role is to hold government to account when it’s warranted, to call out the corruption. Dan doesn’t seem to get this. His idea of media is the both-sides, false equivalence bullshit, that the political right and the political left are equally extreme. And that’s the false equivalence. The political left is nowhere near as extreme as the right. We’re seeing this play out today in 2025, in the second term of Trump. Trump has managed to convince the rubes that he is the most free speech president of all time, and so- called unbiased, credible media like NewsNation – regurgitate the bullshit ad hominem, even as his administration while simultaneously his administration violates the first amendment rights of Americans, illegally targeting them for speaking out against Israel on college campuses.
“There will be successes for this administration,” Abrams predicted. “They may have a very successful Middle East policy. I don’t know. Donald Trump may come in and the war in Ukraine may end because Donald Trump forces them to sit down. The media has to be able to not sit there and – they have to be willing, even the people who hate Trump, if you want to be seen as remotely fair broker, you got to give credit where it’s due…”
There hasn’t been a single noteworthy success for this administration. He bragged about lowering prices, and ending the Russian invasion of the Ukraine on his first day back in the White House. He hasn’t enacted a single policy that would help the American people in any way. After one hundred days into his second term, prices have not lowered, and they have completely abandoned peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. All his administration has done is to completely abandon the rule of law, to openly defy the Supreme Court, and show blatant disregard for the Constitution, by cracking down on free speech on college campuses and exporting American citizens to foreign prisons without due process.
But anyone who criticizes Donald Trump, or dares to call what his administration is doing, fascism, they have Trump Derangement. Spare me the bullshit, Dan and find a new line of employment. You’re a disgrace to your profession.
