Since the beginning of the pandemic, efforts to lessen the spread of the coronavirus have been met with stubborn resistance from the Republican party, and it’s media lapdogs. Instead of uniting with the Democratic party behind the goal of eradicating a virus that doesn’t care what your politics or religion are, they chose to politicize it, mainly in the defense of a president who never accepted any responsibility for his behavior or his rhetoric.
At first it was characterized as a crisis to attack the president. A manufactured crisis to deliberately tank the economy and ruin America’s finest president who did absolutely nothing meaningful while in the White House.
In early March of 2020, on the Fox Business network Trish Regan ranted at “the hate leveled at the president from the ‘left.’
“We’ve reached a tipping point. The chorus of hate being leveled at the president is nearing a crescendo as the Democrats blame him and only him for a virus that originated from halfway around the world. And sadly, it seems they care very little for the destruction they are leaving in their wake. Losses in the stock market, all this, unfortunately, part of the political casualties for them. This is the time to be united, not to be encouraging hate.
“We see the absolute opposite from the left tonight… the hate is boiling over. Many in the liberal media are using the coronavirus in an attempt to demonize and destroy the president.
“This is impeachment all over again. They don’t care who they hurt. Whether it be their need to create mass hysteria to encourage a market drop-off, unlike anything we have seen recently or to be to create mass hysteria to stop our economy dead in its tracks. They told us how much they crave a recession as a way to get rid of Trump.”
This is just one example of the type of rhetoric in defense of a president who clearly had no interest in taking the pandemic seriously. Other Fox News pundits – as well as his lapdogs at other networks – were also interested in stroking his narcissistic ego more than encouraging their viewers to follow CDC guidelines and advice. It was more important to politicize all aspects of possibly shortening the pandemic, by wearing masks around others, social distancing and lockdowns. These, and other health measures, were criticized as authoritarian, and were countered with media pundits and politicians calling for rebellion against “radical Democrats who wanted nothing more than to destroy the economy, by shutting down businesses and destroying people’s livelihoods.” Plague rats by the thousands responded to the calls, storming state capitols, armed and ready for war. They were not angry that Trump was doing very little to lead in a time of crisis, to reassure Americans that by listening to the experts they stood a better chance of surviving a virus that would kill more than half a million people.
None of that mattered to Trump loyalists. What mattered more than anything else, were businesses reopening, not that people were dying. What mattered was that so-called leftist media was critical of Trump. They had the audacity to criticize and ridicule the president when he lied or said something ridiculous. How dare they? What mattered most was that people were putting more trust in the chief medical advisor to the president more than a president who constantly lied, and that he was sometimes critical of the president on national television. How dare he? To the Trump loyalists, Dr. Fauci became the most hated man in America. He became public enemy #01. They called him a liar and a fraud. When the lab leak conspiracy theory hit the media, the Trumpers accused Dr. Fauci of deliberately manufacturing the virus as a bioweapon. This conspiracy was amplified by right-wing media figures like Tucker Carlson, and others who interviewed crackpots like Li-Meng Yan, who has offered no evidence to support her claim. It would seem much more likely that she is being manipulated by powerful people behind the scenes who have much more to gain – financially – in promoting a conspiracy.
Ron DeSantis is one of the dumbest of the Republican governors. Like his favorite role model – the former president – he has demonstrated no interest in accepting any responsibility for prolonging the pandemic, instead choosing to lay all the blame at the feet of the Democratic party, all for the sake of owning the libs.
As the Delta variant was surging in Florida this past summer, DeSantis was defying mask and vaccine mandates while blaming Joe Biden and the Democrats for prolonging the pandemic.
“Joe Biden has the nerve to tell me to get out of the way on COVID while he lets COVID-infected migrants pour over our southern border by the hundreds of thousands. No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America, than Joe Biden with his “open border” policies,” he said in a fundraising letter in August.
Also in August he complained on Waters’ World, “You know, he said he was going to end COVID. He hasn’t done that. We are the first state to start the treatment centers for monoclonal antibodies. We’re having great success with that. That should have been a bigger plan, a bigger part of this whole response throughout the country from the beginning. At the end of the day, he is trying to find a way to distract from the failures of his presidency.“
It’s official. Straight from the horse’s mouth. Joe Biden and the Democrats are the reason the pandemic just won’t end. With their mask and vaccine mandates, they have done more to enable the spread of COVID. With their their socialist “open border” policy, they insist on allowing hundreds of thousands of disease carrying migrants to waltz into Texas as they gleefully mock Biden for not following governor DeSantis’s admirable lead on how to handle a pandemic. They’re the real plague rats here, not those who refuse to get vaccinated or wear masks. Ron DeSantis should be our next president.

So the covid vaccines donāt prevent transmission, but we all have to
get vaccinated to stop the spread? And vaccine passports to boot?
The policy makers are bonkers. Absolute bonkers. Along with most of
the medical community that push vaccines and donāt use their critical
thinking skills.
Oh, and there has been a new conspiracy theory that the vaccines increase all-cause deaths. And it was spread by a surprising source. The FDA.
21 deaths in the vaccine arm versus 17 deaths in the placebo arm.

On page 23:
“From Dose 1 through the March 13, 2021 data cutoff date, there were a total of 38 deaths, 21 in the COMIRNATY [vaccine] group and 17 in the placebo group.”
