In The News: President Biden Expected To Release Full Report On Coronavirus Origin

FeaturedIn The News: President Biden Expected To Release Full Report On Coronavirus Origin

Last Wednesday, the White House released a statement by the president, ordering an investigation into the origin of the coronavirus, which was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. alone.

Back in March, Biden had directed the National Security Advisor and the Intel Community to prepare a report on their analysis of the origin of the virus.

“I received that report earlier this month,” Biden said in the statement, “and asked for additional follow-up.”

The report, according Biden, was not clear on how the virus had originated, whether it was natural or man-made.

“As of today, the U.S. Intelligence Community has coalesced around two likely scenarios, but has not reached a definitive conclusion on this question. Here is their current position: “while two elements in the IC leans more toward the latter – each with low or moderate confidence – the majority do not believe there is sufficient information to access one to be more likely than the other.”

Last Thursday, Biden was asked by reporters if he was going to release the report. “Yes, unless there’s something I’m unaware of,” he said.

Via statement last Thursday, Amanda Schoch, spokesperson for the office of the Director of National Intelligence: “The U.S. intelligence community does not know exactly where , when, or how the COVID-19 virus was transmitted initially. The IC continues to examine all available evidence, consider different perspectives, and aggressively collect and analyse new information to identify the virus’s origins.”

Whether Biden’s decision to investigate the origin of the virus is influenced by the opinion of certain scientists or pressure from Trump allies, is unclear. Republicans have accused Biden and Democrats of refusing to take the conspiracy theory of its origin seriously.

“For over a year anyone asking questions about the Wuhan Institute of Virology has been branded as a conspiracy theorist, Josh Hawley said. “The world needs to know if this pandemic was the product of negligence at the Wuhan lab, but the C.C.P. has done everything it can to block a credible investigation.”

Hawley, who believed the election was rigged in favor of Biden, apparently didn’t feel it was necessary for an investigation into the origin of the virus while Trump held the White House and Republicans controlled the Senate, suddenly now wants an investigation. His priority was playing defense for Trump and the party, spreading conspiracies of a stolen election, and attacking the Democrats and the so-called leftist media for politicizing a virus Republicans and right-wing media downplayed from the beginning.

It should be noted that Hawley and a majority of Republicans have done everything they can to block an investigation into the January 06 insurrection which they incited through incendiary rhetoric, but support an investigation into whether the coronavirus was intentionally or accidentally released from a Wuhan lab, which is, obviously, what they’re hoping for.

In The News: Senate Republicans Oppose Bipartisan Commission To Investigate Events Surrounding January 06

FeaturedIn The News: Senate Republicans Oppose Bipartisan Commission To Investigate Events Surrounding January 06

Since the January 06 insurrection at the Capitol, many Republicans have either downplayed the severity of it, or denied that Trump supporters were even involved. Depending on who you talk to, the whole thing was either a picnic, a peaceful tour of the building, or Antifa and BLM orchestrated the violence to make Donald Trump look bad because he’s been America’s most successful president.

Sadly, some gullible people have bought into it. Never mind that for weeks leading up to election day and far beyond, Trump had complained nearly non-stop of a stolen election – which his supporters repeated ad infinitum – and that rioters were seen carrying Trump and neo-Confederate flags.

Antifa masquerading as Trump supporters.

In what appears to be the first successful filibuster of Joe Biden’s presidency, Senate Republicans are stalling and delaying passage of legislation that would create a commission to investigate the insurrection. Even though it passed through the House earlier this month with many Republicans in support of it, some of them believe a commission would be used against them for political purposes, what Trump has allegedly referred to as a “Democrat trap.”

Mitch McConnell, who had previously said in a statement that he believed Trump had been responsible for inciting the mob, was initially open to the idea of an investigation into the events surrounding January 06. Now he opposes it, believing the panel’s investigative committee would not be partial despite a split among Republicans and Democrats.

“They’d like to continue to litigate the former president into the future,” McConnell said.

A handful of Republicans are expected to vote on the legislation. Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski supports the legislation.

“Truth is hard stuff,” she said to reporters last Thursday. “But we’ve got a responsibility to it. We just can’t pretend nothing bad happened, or that people just got too excitable. Something bad happened and it’s important to lay that out.”

Joe Manchin, who is not ready to abandon the filibuster, blasted McConnell and other Republicans who refused to vote on a commission.

“There is no excuse for any Republican to vote against this commission, since Democrats have agreed to everything they asked for,” he said. “McConnell has made this his political position, thinking it will help his 2022 election. They do not believe the truth will set you free, so they continue to live in fear.”

“We had a mob overtake the Capitol, and we can’t get the Republicans to join us in making historic record of that event?” Dick Durbin, Senator of Illinois wanted to know. “That’s sad. That tells you what’s wrong with the Senate and what’s wrong with the filibuster.”

Kevin McCarthy Finds Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Holocaust Comment “Appalling” But Not Enough For Expulsion

FeaturedKevin McCarthy Finds Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Holocaust Comment “Appalling” But Not Enough For Expulsion

Last week, the Republican party’s resident lunatic Marjorie Taylor Greene, compared wearing masks to the Holocaust.

Speaking to David Brody on “The Water Cooler” podcast, Greene verbally attacked Nancy Pelosi for requiring GOP members to wear masks unless they can prove they’ve been vaccinated.

QAnon Kook and Congressperson MTG.

Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, Greene said, “This is a woman who is mentally-ill. You know, we can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas Chambers in Nazi Germany. And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about. This is a woman who doesn’t care about people’s safety. This is a woman that is hyper-focused on her own power and control.”

As is typical of Republicans who have no sense of irony, she has accused Democrats of being divisive and violent. Media Matters has an entry on all of the “divisive and violent” rhetoric of Greene, here, before and after being elected to Congress.

“You can never compare health-related restrictions with yellow stars, gas Chambers and other Nazi atrocities,” the American Jewish Congress tweeted in response to Greene’s anti-semitic comments. “Such comparisons demean the Holocaust and contaminate American political speech. Rep. Greene must immediately retract and apologize.”

Kevin McCarthy and the Republican party’s response – or at least those who are loyal to Donald Trump – demonstrates exactly how they have been cucked by the dangerous extremism of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy’s statement:

Marjorie is wrong and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling.

At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat party and is completely ignored by Nancy Pelosi.

America must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust.

“Let me be clear: the House Republican conference condemns this language.”

The fact that he blames anti-Semitism on the Democrats rather his own party, shows how naive and uniformed conservatives¬† are. He went so far as to draw up a bill condemning hate crimes against Jews, which conservatives are blaming on Democrats for certain members having the audacity to rightfully criticize and condemn Irael’s war crimes against the Palestinian people. There is no nuance when it comes to Israel. To conservatives, you either support Israel’s subjugation and occupation of Gaza, and if you don’t you’re an anti-Semite. Poppycock.

The Republican party has always been as anti-Semitic as it is racist against black people. If you dare call out Netanyahu’s genocidal treatment of Palestinians, conservatives will accuse you of being anti-Semitic. If you dare accuse them of anti-Semitism for criticizing George Soros and other liberal Jews they don’t like, for instance accusing them of being Nazis collaborators, you’re just being hysterical, it has nothing to do with anti-Semitism because conservatives know for a fact that as a fourteen year old boy, Soros really did collaborate with the Nazis to betray his own people.

The only people who have ever diminished or attempted to diminish the history of the Holocaust, are the Republican party and their voters. They have done it time and time again with these and similar comments throughout the presidency of Donald Trump. And when called out, they always play the what-about-ism game, what about the Democrats, what about Ilhan Omar’s ‘it’s all about the Benjamin’s baby?

Republicans like Kevin McCarthy don’t give a damn about condemning anti-Semitism. The Republican party and it’s voting base are full of anti-Semites in the form of fascists, neo-Confederates, and actual Nazis. They voted for Trump, they attended his rallies, they turned up at BLM rallies to antagonize and incite violence, they gathered at Unite The Right in Charlottesville to protest the removal of a Confederate monument, and Trump literally called them “very fine people.”

If Republicans actually cared about condemning anti-Semitism,  they would be serious about calling it out in their own party by condemning and expelling extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene. Instead, they choose to rebuke her half-heartedly and censure Liz Cheney for refusing to believe the election was stolen from Trump.

“Sorry some of my words make people uncomfortable, but this is what the American left is all about,” Greene tweeted.

The last four years have proven that this is what the Republican party is all about. Extremism, bigotry, racism, and anti-Semitism. And the Trump-loving Republicans don’t care. All they care about is pleasing Trump.

According to a Moderna study, following a first dose of it’s vaccine, protection against the coronavirus had a 93% effectiveness, compared to a 100% effectiveness fourteen days after a second dose.

The study involved approximately 3,700 adolescent participants. Two-thirds received the vaccine, and one-third received a placebo. Participants who had received the vaccine showed no signs of COVID, while among those who had been given a placebo, were four cases of illness.

The common adverse side-effects reported by those vaccinated are the usual complaints of pain at injection site, fatigue, headache, and muscle soreness. These side-effects were a common complaint after each of the injections during the Phase 2/3 clinical study.

As of now, Moderna’s vaccine is available only to adults eighteen years of age and over, as it’s initial testing was done in adults. They hope to be able to use their vaccine in children as young as twelve after authorization from the FDA.

“We will submit these results to the U.S. FDA and regulators globally in June and request authorization,” says Stephane Bancel, CEO of Moderna.

In The News: CDC Says Half Of U.S. Adults Are Fully-Vaccinated

FeaturedIn The News: CDC Says Half Of U.S. Adults Are Fully-Vaccinated

According to CDC data, fifty-percent of American adults have been fully-vaccinated, a total of 131,078,608. The same data shows that over 164 million have received one dose of a vaccine.

The U.S. previously approved immunization for the virus to everyone over the age of sixteen this past April, while children below the age of twelve have yet to be approved for coronavirus vaccines.

At a White House briefing Andy Slavitt, the COVID-19 advisor, said, “This is a major milestone in our countries vaccination efforts. The progress that we’ve made is due to all of you who have gotten vaccinated. Who have contributed not only to your health but to mine and my family’s and my friends’ and yours, and the health of people who can’t get vaccinated because of their medical condition. You’ve contributed to your country.”

Many Americans have resisted getting vaccinated either due to misinformation about the vaccines and their safety, or a personal belief that vaccines simply don’t work. Slavitt had this to say to those who are hesitant.

“”Find whatever reason you want to get vaccinated. For those not sure yet, do your homework, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. All concerns are reasonable. But do yourself a favor. Don’t let some guy on Facebook answer your question when good answers are available.”

National Guard To Depart D.C. Capitol This Week

FeaturedNational Guard To Depart D.C. Capitol This Week

The Washington Post is reporting that the National Guard will withdraw all remaining troops from the U.S. Capitol in D.C. this week. According to N. Guard spokesperson, Chelsie Johnson, about 1,700 troops remain from various states, pending departures through much of the week.

The Guard has remained at the Capitol since January 06, the day thousands of crazed Trump-loving supporters, misled by his lies of a stolen election, attempted to overturn the results of that election, and made fools of themselves by breaking and entering, destroying property, and defecating all over the place – everything they have accused BLM “terrorists” of being guilty of.

“These airmen and soldiers protected not only the grounds , but the lawmakers working on those grounds, ensuring the people’s business could continue unabated,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said via statement. “They lived out in very tangible ways the oath they took to support and defend the Constitution.”

Had they been there to prevent the MAGA hordes from breaching the Capitol – at a time when election certifications were taking place – one could argue that would actually be defending the Constitution.

In The News: CDC Looking Into Possible Heart Problem In Some Vaccine Recipients

FeaturedIn The News: CDC Looking Into Possible Heart Problem In Some Vaccine Recipients

The New York Times has reported that the CDC is looking into a possible heart problem in a few teenage recipients of the COVID-19 vaccines.

According to the agency’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices the Vaccine Safety Technical Work Group ( VaST ) has reviewed post-authorization vaccine safety data on a regular basis since the vaccines were developed. VaST assessments of safety data have been presented at ACIP public meetings.

During the previous ACIP meeting were presentations of reports of alleged cases of myocarditis following mRNA vaccine administration in some teens and young adults, which seem to occur more often in males rather than females, more often following two doses, and within four days of full immunization.

It’s not been determined if the “relatively few” cases are even related to the vaccines. “It may simply be a coincidence that some people are developing myocarditis after vaccination,” says Dr. Celine Gounder who is an infectious disease specialist at New York’s Bellevue Hospital. “It’s more likely for something like that to happen by chance, because so many people are getting vaccinated right now.”

“We look forward to seeing more data about these cases,” says Dr. Yvonne Maldonado, chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases, “so we can better understand if they are related to the vaccine or if they are coincidental. Meanwhile it’s important for pediatricians and other clinicians to report any health concerns that might arise after vaccination.”

In The News: Pfizer And Astra-Zeneca Vaccines Found To Be ‘Highly-Effective’ Against New COVID Strains

FeaturedIn The News: Pfizer And Astra-Zeneca Vaccines Found To Be ‘Highly-Effective’ Against New COVID Strains

According to a new study by Public Health England, the Astra-Zeneca, and Pfizer vaccines are very effective against new strains from India and the U.K..

Testing done between April 05 and May 16 discovered that Pfizer’s BioNTech vaccine was 88% effective against a coronavirus variant ( B.1617.2 ) from India, two weeks after a second dose is administered. Its effectiveness is 93% against the B.1.1.7 strain from the U.K..

The Astra-Zeneca vaccine was found to be 60% effective against the B.1.617 compared to that of a 66% against the B.1.1.7 strain.

Public Health officials in England expect to see “even higher levels of effectiveness against hospitalizations and death” as a result of these vaccines.

“It’s now clear how important the second dose is to secure the strongest possible protection against COVID-19 and its variants – and I urge everyone to book in their jab when offered,” Health and Social Care secretary, Matt Hancock said via public statement.

“This study provides reassurance that two doses of either vaccine offer high levels of protection against symptomatic disease  from the B.1.617.2 variant,” Head of Immunization, Mary Ramsay said in the same statement. “We expect the vaccines to be even more effective at preventing hospitalizations and death, so it’s vital to get both doses to gain maximum protection against all existing and emerging variants.”

“We now have early evidence that the vaccine protects against the India variant,” said Susan Hopkins, the COVID-19 strategic response director for PHE. “That’s really good news. What we are saying now is push the second dose and get as many people vaccinated as possible.”

Attacks On Gaza Continue Despite Hamas Support For A Cease Fire

FeaturedAttacks On Gaza Continue Despite Hamas Support For A Cease Fire

Israel has shamelessly continued relentless bombardment of Gaza with missile strikes despite calls for a cease fire from Hamas, surrounding entities, and progressive leaders in the United States.

President Joe Biden, who says he cares about children dying on both sides of the “conflict” has failed to demand a cease fire from Israel’s corrupt Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been under criminal investigation.

The current violence was instigated by Israeli authorities after  threatening to remove Palestinian residents – like Samir Dajani – from their homes in the Israeli neighborhood of Sheik Jarrah. Israel authorities claims it is a private dispute that goes back decades, and that the Palestinian claim of Israel forcibly removing them is nothing more than a narrative to incite violence. These families could soon lose their homes under Jewish law.

Prime Minister Netanyahu appeared on Face The Nation Sunday where he lied repeatedly about the violence against the Palestinians, failing to admit what and/or who instigated the so-called conflict.

Asked when the violence would end, he said, “Well, we hope it doesn’t continue very long, but we were attacked by Hamas on our National Day, Jerusalem Day, attacked unprovoked – unprovoked attacks on Jerusalem and then thousands of rockets and missiles on our cities. And I think any country has  to defend itself. It has a natural right of self-defense. We’ll do whatever it takes to restore order and quiet and the security of our people and deterence. We’re trying to degrade Hamas terrorist abilities to do this again. So it’ll take some time. I hope it won’t take long, but it’s not immediate.”

When asked why Hamas had agreed to a cease fire but Israel had not, he said,”Well, that’s not what I know, and frankly if Hamas thought they could fire rockets and then sit back and enjoy immunity, that’s false. We are targeting a terrorist organization that is targeting our civilians and hiding behind their civilians, using them as human shields. We’re doing everything we can to hit the terrorists themselves, their rockets,  their caches of arms. But we’re not just going to let them get away with it. Neither would you. I mean, just imagine what would have happened if you had 2,900 rockets fired on Washington and New York and others. I think you would understand our position. I think you do, actually.”

Again it must be emphasized that Israel has all of the power, all of the military might, backed by the most powerful military in the world – the United States. Palestine- its people have no power, no military might, no powerful nations backing it with military and humanitarian aid.

I cannot imagine another nation firing thousands of missiles into America unprovoked. If it ever happened, perhaps it would be because the United States did something to provoke it, something similar to what Israel did to the Palestinian people, illegally annexing land and property that didn’t and does not belong to them, imprisoning thousands of Palestinians, and continuing to militarily occupy what little land the Palestinians are allowed to live on, continuing to carry out genocide, and then Israel’s Prime Minister continuing to play the victim on National television just as he always does every time he massacres Palestinian civilians.

No, I don’t understand Israel’s position. I don’t think I ever will. Israel is not the victim here. The Palestinian people are the victims of Israel’s transgressions.

Creepy QAnon And Trump-Loving Marjorie Taylor Greene Embarrasses Herself Harassing AOC

FeaturedCreepy QAnon And Trump-Loving Marjorie Taylor Greene Embarrasses Herself Harassing AOC

QAnon and Trump-loving troll MTG has embarrassed herself non-stop since getting elected to represent Georgia, and has had an unhealthy obsession with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez by following her through the halls of Congress harassing her.

Recently a video surfaced of Greene and her friends attempting to harass Cortez at her office. The video was filmed in 2019 before Greene was elected to Congress by her unhinged constituents. In the video Greene could be seen and heard taunting Cortez to come out and face her, referring to her as a diaper-wearing infant.

Last Wednesday, Greene confronted Cortez outside the House chamber and asked her why she supports Antifa and BLM, claiming both to be terrorist groups, and accused her of being a terrorist sympathizer.

This is ironic since anyone who is aware of recent history when it comes to terrorism, it has always been the Republican party, and its media defenders who have made excuses for domestic terrorists, whether it be the Unite The Right in Charlottesville, or Kyle Rittenhouse who murdered two BLM activists. They hailed Rittenhouse as a patriot and a hero. Some conservatives raised funds to pay for his legal defense.

After the incident, a spokesperson for AOC, Lauren Hitt said in a statement: “Representative Greene tried to begin an argument with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and when Cortez tried to walk away, Greene began screaming at her and called her a terrorist sympathizer. We hope leadership and the Sargeant at Arms will take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all members and staff – especially as many offices are discussing reopening. One member has already been forced to relocate her office due to Greene’s attacks.”

Greene later boasted to reporters that Ocasio-Cortez was a “chicken” who was afraid to debate the Green New Deal.

“These members are cowards. They need to defend their legislation to the people. That’s pathetic.”

What is truly pathetic is someone like Greene – a QAnon-loving moron – who has no idea what the GND is, believing she can debate someone like AOC, who is just the opposite.

It should be noted that Greene has suggested in the past that several Democratic figures be executed for treason, and repeated the lies and conspiracy theories that Democrats rigged the election. It shows how deeply disturbed this person is, and the Republican party and it’s media continue to defend her.
