Pseudo-Intellectual Hack Says “Black Lives Matter Is As Racist as The KKK, And They’re Fascists”| Media Matters for America

Since the formation of Black Lives Matter, it has evoked a  hysterical, ridiculous and racist response from the totally not racist Republican party, it’s media apparatus, and it’s base of voters.

Black Lives Matter got its start with the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter after George Zimmerman was aquitted in the death of Trayvon Martin. The movement has protested the unjustified killings of African Americans in the custody of law enforcement. Protests have occured in Ferguson, Missouri after the death of Micheal Brown. Protests have also occured in Dallas, Texas over the killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille. During these protests, five Dallas police officers were ambushed and killed by black nationalist, Micah Johnson. His motive for the murders were the unjust killings of black Americans by law enforcement. Despite his motive being quite clear, his actions were blamed on Black Lives Matter and Barack Obama – with no evidence – because both had been critical of police tactics when dealing with black communities. Johnson had no connection to BLM, but that didn’t stop conservative media from inventing that connection.

The movement has faced a backlash of racism and hatred from a variety of smears and false allegations to paint the movement as a racist hate group comparable to the KKK, that promotes violence against law enforcement. In its infancy the movement wasn’t very popular, due mainly to blatant conservative misinformation about its motives. But after the death of George Floyd, which set off massive world-wide protests, its popularity has risen, despite mainstream conservative media’s continuing efforts to discredit the movement as anti-American.

On the September 08 edition of the Dennis Prager radio show, as the summer protests were raging across America, one of the greatest intellects of all time, compared Black Lives Matter to the KKK. Prager is not the first conservative so-called intellect to make such an insanely stupid comparison. Other self-described intellects like Mark Levin, Charlie Kirk, and Tomi Lahren have also made the analogy.

“There is no escape. Remember, the left is totalitarian. I’ve said it all my life, most people think I’ve engaged in hyperbole. Maybe now you realize that is literally accurate. All leftists are totalitarian. Liberals are not, conservatives are not, leftists are. Our control must be total. You cannot escape leftism. Not even on an American airlines flight, that little bubble in the air. Why don’t they just rename it left-wing airlines?”

He was upset that United Airlines had the audacity to allow their flight attendants wear BLM lapel pins to show solidarity if they chose to. How dare they!? God forbid they offend the feelings of a totally not racist guy like Dennis Prager.

“You are not welcome if you consider police lives valuable. You are not welcome if you know that BLM is a despicable, fascist group. Why can’t people say that? It is so obvious. Do you see what they do in almost every city? Now Rochester and Pittsburgh. The other was Washington D.C.. They scream and curse people, white people, who are having dinner because they’re white. And they’re not a racist organization? It’s the most racist organization in the country outside of the Ku Klux Klan. It’s just beyond belief. The fact that there are many whites in it doesn’t make it non-racist. These sick people that join it. Angry, sick people.”

It’s not that they don’t consider police lives valuable. Police lives are valued over black lives. Most reasonable people know this to be true. To the criminal justice system, black lives are valued less. That’s not fake news, that’s not propaganda, that’s not a libtard lie. That’s just fact.

Pseudo-intellectuals like Dennis Prager will excuse it, ignore it, or deny it. He’s not interested in reality. He’s not interested in factual evidence that contradicts his biases. He’s not interested in truth. He’s interested in spreading whatever garbage he gets paid to spread by the billionaires who fund him. As long as he gets paid to spread racist BS about black culture and BLM, he will gladly do so as long as he gets paid the big bucks to do it.

Dennis Prager clearly considers police lives valuable. He’s made that quite clear in his sycophantic support of authority, so it’s ironic that he would accuse the left of being authoritarian, when right-wing conservatives like himself bend the knee to actual authoritative, totalitarian organizations.

Does he consider black lives valuable? No, he does not. Prager has never met a black teenager or adult who’s death he didn’t approve of at the hands of the police. Like any decent , color-blind conservative, he trashed Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Jacob Blake. He had no such condemnation for Brett Kavanaugh when he was accused of immoral behavior by Christine Ford – I wonder why. That was just a leftist smear. However, about the death of George Floyd, he had this to say:

“I mean, the more we know including George Floyd. The chances are miniscule that the knee on the side of the neck caused him to die. So the two premises of the issues that caused the protests and riots to begin with, is a lie. Or overwhelming likely to be a lie. He as not killed by the knee to the neck. ( The knee to the neck is a usual procedure in the Minneapolis police force… police department ). And we still have not established that he did it because the guy was black. If you see the entire video, he’s sort of hysterical from the beginning of his encounter with the police who were completely decent with him. He says he can’t breath before they touch him.”

So, according to Prager, the protests were based on a lie because it was his opinion that George Floyd didn’t really die from a knee on his wind pipe, and BLM is based on a lie because in his opinion – and the opinion of countless color-blind conservatives – that systemic racism is nothing more than a leftist myth, and the left are the real racists by complaining about racism all the time, because racism couldn’t possibly be real, especially after having a black man as president. What they really are – besides being racists themselves – is a fascist organization, and it’s so obvious because people are not allowed to say it, and the proof that they’re fascist – and racist – is because they screamed at some white people – because they’re white – who are having dinner. And that’s what makes them more racist than the KKK. Never mind all of the crosses they’ve burned on white people’s lawns, and never mind all the American cities they’ve burned completely to the ground, cities that have been left in smoldering ruins, some of them still burning as I write this.

And because a knee to the neck is a permitted procedure with the Minneapolis police when dealing with suspects who present an “imminent danger,” and the fact that Floyd complained of shortness of breath before the deadly encounter, meant that he was acting “hysterical,” according to Prager, all of which justified his death.

There are racist – and fascist – organizations in America that are far more comparable to the KKK. But they are not Black Lives Matter. They are not Antifa. They are not any leftist or liberal group that advocates for diversity, equality and inclusion. They are conservative groups and organizations that oppose equality, diversity and inclusion. They are a myriad of mainstream conservative anti-immigration organizations such as Judicial Watch, and VDARE. These groups are openly racist, and xenophobic. The only thing they are not doing is burning crosses.

For actual evidence of organizations that are much closer to the philosophy of the KKK,  right-wing media is a perfect example. The great replacement conspiracy theory – a neo-Nazi belief that non-white immigrants are destroying western culture – has been appearing in mainstream conservative media for years.

From Business Insider, Sept. 07, 2020:

“Fox News is home to a near-constant stream of claims that America is being subjected to an immigrant “invasion.” Hosts and contributors, including Brian Kilmeade, Stuart Varney, Pete Hegseth, Tomi Lahren, and Mike Huckabee, have repeatedly fear-mongered about a supposed “invasion” of the United States’ southern border by migrants seeking asylum.

“The vitriolic talking point has become ubiquitous in Fox’s lineup; a Media Matters study last year found that Fox made over 70 on-air references to an invasion by migrants over the seven months leading to the El Paso mass shooting, in which the perpetrator said he was responding to a “Hispanic invasion of Texas.”

“In addition to the open racism of its “invasion” talking point, Fox News regularly pushes the claim that Americans are being replaced by immigrants in order to benefit Democrats at the ballot box. On the Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham warned in 2018 that “Democrats want to replace you, the American voters, with newly-amnestied citizens and an ever increasing number of chain migrants.” This May, Ingraham boosted an article from the white nationalist website VDARE that attempted to link immigration to coronavirus hotspots.”

Finally, I would argue that the Republican party is far more comparable to the KKK. It’s not conjecture, it’s not opinion, it’s not made up. It’s  fact based on actual evidence.

  • It’s the party that denies the history of the south after the Civil War.
  • The history of the two parties after the Civil Rights Act.
  • The southern strategy – referring to it as a leftist myth.
  • Referring to the Democratic party as the “Plantation,” often accusing them of using welfare to get “the black vote.”
  • It’s the party that engages in voter suppression tactics to prevent black people from voting Democrat.
  • It’s the party that attacks and vilifies Black Lives Matter as “racists,” “fascists” and “terrorists” for daring to oppose white supremacy and police brutality.
  • It’s the party that demonizes black culture for it’s “out of control violence,” while conveniently ignoring the white culture of violence.
  • It’s the party that downplays police brutality and violence against black people.

It’s smug ass Republicans like Dennis Prager and his ilk who love to remind us that the Democratic party is still the “party of the KKK.”

If that’s the case, why have they been a Republican organization for decades now? Why do they vote Republican now? Why do they run for office on the Republican ticket? Why did they support Donald Trump? Why were they present at Charlottesville? They were not there to represent the Democratic party. It was a rally to unite the right.

If the Democrats are still the party of the KKK, why do so many Republicans defend and romanticize confederate symbols like the flag and statues of traitorous slave holders as “southern pride and heritage”? Is this a history worthy of being proud of?

If the Democrats are still the party of the KKK, why are Republicans so defensive about these symbols being removed?

And why did Prager U do a video in defense of slavery and why a statue of Robert E. Lee should remain?

Republicans – and Dennis Prager in particular – have no right to complain about racism when they perpetuate it. Just because there are black people in the party, doesn’t make it non-racist.
