Talk show host Gayle King criticized Nancy Pelosi for referring to Trump supporters as henchmen.
Speaking to King on whether she felt Biden should debate Trump, Pelosi said, “The president has no fidelity to fact or truth, and actually in his comments the last few days, no fidelity to the Constitution… He and his henchmen are a danger with their comments, and are a danger to our democracy. Why bother? He isn’t committed to the Constitution.”
King said others would find her language as egregious as Trump’s language was about Pelosi.
I really don’t give a shit whether her language was egregious or not. It’s time to stop being civil to Trump supporters. It’s time to stop worrying about hurting their fragile, snowflake feelings. This are people that are fascist to the core, racist to the core, that don’t give a damn about the first amendment, unless it benefits them. These are people who support and defend the wrongful killings of African American citizens at the hands of an authoritarian police state. These are people who stoke racial fear and hatred of black and brown people. These are people who openly incite violence against their political opponents.

A real tough guy who wants you to believe that he’s not racist. Who has no problem with white militia men marching armed through Louisville, Kentucky an open carry state. But if you’re part of a black militia doing the same, or an armed – or even unarmed – peaceful protester, he wants you to know you’re a threat to authority and need to be put down like a dog.
These are people who not only marched with a mob of white supremacists in Charlottesville that were responsible for the death of a young woman, but defended the racist mob. These are people who support and defend a president who lies about the Democrats – a centrist party of neo-liberals – telling his supporters that they’re a far left party of radical Marxists who hate their own country; who promoted a racist conspiracy theory about America’s first black president; who has referred to a civil rights movement as terrorists; who has designated – although he has no authority to do so – an antifascist movement as domestic terrorists; who referred to Nazis as fine people; who’s rhetoric – and that of his favorite media, Fox News – has led to the shootings of Muslims, Jews, and immigrants. Who has admitted on record to downplaying the severity of a virus that has now claimed, according to cdc.gov, as of September 27, 204,033 lives; never bothered to mandate testing, mask wearing, or shutting down schools, businesses, etc., – in fact urged reopening way too soon – has never bothered to hold Congress accountable for failing to financially take care of working Americans until they can get back on their feet, has consistently blamed the Democrats for things he should have done, all while pretending he has done a wonderful job during the pandemic, and his sycophantic supporters have excused it all.
Trump, and his supporters have said and done far worse to his critics – than calling them henchmen. The term henchmen fits them perfectly.
