It’s not the fact that we have massive inequality of wealth.
It’s not the fact that we have hundreds of thousands of homeless Americans, including thousands of veterans.
It’s not the fact that we have about seventy percent of Americans living pay check to pay check, while many of them having a hard time making ends meet.
It’s not the fact that we have a government that is so corrupt and so immoral, that virtually ignores the homeless and the poor, that think nothing of decreasing millions from the social safety net, while increasing an over bloated military budget.
It’s not the fact that we have a health care system that is corrupt and broken.
It’s not the fact that we have a government that doesn’t take seriously the threat of climate change or global warming.
It’s not the fact that we have hundreds of thousands of people addicted to dangerous drugs – including opioids – and dying of over dosing.
It’s not the fact that we have an immigration system that is broken.
It’s not the fact that we have a government that puts undocumented immigrants in cages, instead of treating them like human beings.
It’s not the fact that we have a problem with gun violence in America, taking at least 32,000 lives or more each year, a problem that Congress refuses to address.
It’s not the fact that we have a gun lobby that is complicit in gun violence, buying off politicians – mostly Republicans – to ignore gun control legislation – while children are blown to pieces in schools with assault weapons; producing propaganda videos inciting violence toward anyone who opposes the current administration.
It’s not that we have a government that refuses to recognize the threat of white supremacist terrorism.
It’s not the fact that we have a so-called mainstream conservative news media that willingly promotes hatred and fear of undocumented immigrants.
It’s not the fact that we have a political party – Republicans – that denies the existence of systemic racism, a system that imprisons more people of color than non color, much of it due to a war on drugs.
It’s not the fact that we have a political party – Republicans – and its media arm, Fox News and conservative radio – that ironically accused America’s first black president of stoking racial tension and division, while basing their entire opposition to him on stoking racial tension/division, portraying him as a radical, extremist Kenyan, Marxist, communist, socialist, terrorist coddling, law enforcement hating, American hating Muslim, when he was anything but.
None of these things are the reason for the declination of America. What’s really the problem is that someone – liberals, leftists, progressives – might criticize and condemn its sacred institutions – the NRA, Christianity, the military, the flag ( including the Confederate flag ) – instead of those damn leftists who want everyone to have health care, free college, and all that other commie crap!
