Right – wingers are always whining about liberal intolerance. If you’re a liberal who believes that every human being deserves respect and dignity despite their race, religion, or sexual orientation, and refuse to buy into the right-wing myths and stereotypes about gays, trans genders, immigrants, and Muslims, then you’re the intolerant one. If you dare criticize their hateful and bigoted tirades and rants, then it’s you and all of liberalism that is intolerant and want to silence conservative thought and opinion. Which is nonsense.
Right-wing extremists like Dana Loesch, who accuse liberals of intolerance, engage in it themselves on a daily basis. An example of the intolerance that the right-wing has for opposing ideas, views and opinions, was their media assault on the teenage survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Right-wing media ( including the NRA ) employed an extensive harassment and smear campaign to discredit and smear them because they had the balls to stand up to the NRA and the politicians they bribe, and say enough is enough, do something. They were accused of being crises actors; paid shills of George Soros, and leftist gun-grabbing Marxists groups; soulless and mushy brained ( that would be people like Loesch, and Squishy Pants Nugent ); they were civil terrorists; were compared to Nazis who wanted to ban guns; and wanted to murder law abiding gun owners. And not to mention, the countless death threats they’ve endured. This is actual intolerance. Conservatives, whose feelings are so fragile they are incapable of hearing an opposing point of view – in this case, teenagers calling for a strengthening of America’s lax gun laws – without completely losing it, and throwing temper tantrums like petulant children who can’t get their way. And they claim it’s really liberals who are the crybabies.
Gun reform activists are all fair game for right-wing criticism. When David Hogg said at the MFOL rally, “I’m going to put this price tag right here as a reminder how much money Marco Rubio took from the NRA for every students lives in Florida,” right-wing gun nuts, and the NRA, lost their minds. David French of the National Review, tweeted : “So, the adult activists think this kind of rhetoric is acceptable?” He had no such rebuke for fellow conservative Kevin Williamson when he called for the death penalty of women who have abortions. In fact, he wrote an article titled, The Sliming Of Kevin Williamson, praising him , and asking liberals to be tolerant. Conservatives want liberals to be tolerant, but apparently they don’t care to hold themselves to the same standard.
Likewise, he has had no rebuke for Dana Loesch’s violent rhetoric when she attacks the free press, and calls for the curb stomping of perceived liberal reporters and calls them the rat bastards of the earth, her NRA videos depicting liberal protesters as fascists for protesting, or some of her inflammatory CPAC speeches where she has used racially charged language to accuse the media of loving mass shootings. If anyone loves mass shootings, it’s certainly Dana Loesch, Wayne Lapew, and her other fascist cohorts at the NRA. Firearm sales rise after mass shootings, which pleases the manufacturers, which means more gun sales for the NRA, and more money in their pockets.
Conservatives like Loesch expect liberals to just shut up and accept anything they say about liberals and progressives, without criticism, no matter how insane it is. She and other conservatives can accuse liberals and Democrats of supporting infanticide. We must accept that insane accusation, and shut the f**k up, and if we dare criticize her, then we’re being intolerant. She proclaimed it, so it must be true, since she is just one of several harbingers of truth in a ‘dishonest liberal media’. And yet, if liberals or progressives dare accuse her, and the NRA of allowing children to be shot, for bribing politicians to ignore gun violence, and its failure to support universal background checks, then it’s a false attack against not only her and the NRA, but a vicious smear campaign to besmirch their flawless and wonderful reputations, and silence her and her fellow conservatives.
Let’s all cry a river for Dana and the honest media she represents. They’re such victims.
Actually, liberals and progressives want everyone to think for themselves. Dana and her fellow gun extremists at the NRA would rather have everyone not only thinking alike, but marching in lock step with the NRA’s fascist vision of America, where everyone is armed to the teeth, watches NRA TV, believes they are the harbingers of truth and freedom, and anyone who criticizes them is un American.
