It’s evident that what conservatives are bellyaching about liberals and Democrats supposedly being guilty of , they’re pretty much guilty of it themselves. It’s called psychological projection , accuse your opponents of what you are guilty of. Conservatives have cornered the market on it.
Case in point , Mark Levin , radio host and right wing screeching mag pie with a voice that can make anyone cringe. He’s the host of Life , Liberty , And Levin on the Fox News channel. Recently Levin’s CRTV merged with Glenn Beck’s failing The Blaze , to become Blaze Media , or BlazeTV
Before it merged with The Blaze , CRTV – like most of conservative media – was not known for journalistic standards or integrity. It was mostly a right wing hack site for fake news , partisan quackery and massive amounts of hypocrisy and projection , with a smattering of racism and bigotry , another Fox News type entertainment channel , a media lap dog of the Trump White House.
Its featured commentators included Michelle Malkin – who resigned or was fired soon after the merger – Steven “Chowder Head” Crowder , and Gavin Mc Ginnis ( also gone after the merger ) who once featured conservative race denier , Jessie Lee Peterson , on his show , Get Off My Lawn!
Dubbed the Great One by Sean Hannity – which is ironic , since he’s without a doubt , one of the dumbest political hack commentators around – many of Levin’s supporters and fans actually believe him to be an intellectual. He’s known for his loud and abrasive manner when dealing with opposition to his ideas or opinions. On his radio show he has demonstrated an annoying habit of bullying callers who disagree with him , talking over them and often hanging up on them. For a supposed intellectual who earned a BA in political science , he seems unwilling to engage his opponents in political debate of ideas , and instead chooses to accuse them of being radical Marxists.
Levin has a long history of playing the race card when attacking Americas first black president , even as he accused Obama of doing the same. He was also quick to throw the fascist card at Obama , something he recently accused Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats of labeling president Trump.
On his radio show last week , Levin claimed that the Democratic party has become a party of bigots because it failed to mention representative Ilan Omar in its resolution to condemn anti Semitism. This had Mark Levin absolutely livid. Ever since the Ilhan Omar controversy , conservatives have been making fools of themselves by claiming that the Democratic party is now the party of bigotry because she had the nerve to be critical of Israel’s lobbying influence – through AIPAC – on Washington.
Levin : “The Democratic party has among it a growing number of bigots ,” he said , with a complete lack of awareness that the Republican party has had for decades a problem with bigotry , not just racism , but anti Semitism , Islamophobia , homophobia , and transgender phobia.
“The Democratic party has shown itself to be exactly what it is. They fear offending the radical extreme corner of its base.”
What they fear more than anything else , is offending Republicans , which is why they condemned her and proposed a resolution to condemn anti Semitism in the first place. Levin and other Islamophobic bigots in the Republican party are outraged that the resolution didn’t solely condemn Omar and her alleged anti -Semitism , but anti Muslim bigotry. They’re outraged that it included condemnation of anti Muslim bigotry. Is Levin outraged that twenty-three Republicans voted no to condemn bigotry? No , he’s not outraged at that , because he’s a bigot himself , who is fine with protecting and excusing the actual anti-Semitic and Islamophobic bigots in his own party.
“They fear offending the growing pockets of fundamentalist Islam in this country , let’s be honest , who vote Democratic through and through.”
I had no idea extreme , radical Muslims who believe in Sharia , vote Democratic.
“The Democratic caucus was split , we read from news reports , on whether or not to vote for a watered down , dumbed down version in which the bigot of bigots , Omar , was not to be named. Tough Nancy Pelosi … she buckled. She’s a coward.”
More like she was encouraged to do the right thing. Levin , on the other hand , is a coward , because he’s obviously not man enough to admit he’s a hateful bigot.
Mark Levin accusing Democrats of anti-Semitism , is not only laughable , but it’s a common ruse by Republicans to accuse those – usually liberals – who call out their racism , of playing the race card. He’s currently employed at a so-called news organization whose commentators regularly dehumanize Muslims , migrants and other marginalized groups as sub human. This past Fall , during the mid term elections , Fox news commentators , including Levin on his radio show , joined in the hate fest of migrant caravans coming to invade America , claiming it was funded by , who else , but George Soros , the favorite bogey man of conservatives who are not , in any way , anti-Semitic. His hatred and racial attacks on America’s first black president have been well-documented by media watch groups like Media Matters , Right Wing Watch , and News Hounds.
Like any typical right wing douche bag , Levin is a hypocrite when it comes to race. He is reluctant to call out and condemn the anti-Semitism and racism that runs amok among the Republican party and the conservative movement , but will pounce on Democrats he perceives to be anti Semitic , like Ilhan Omar , who clearly is not. Then , it’s off to the races , accusing anyone who disagrees with them , or dares criticize Israel , of anti-Semitism.
Levin : “Her comments were hateful.”
Omar : “So , for me , I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country. I want to ask , why is it OK for me to talk about the influence of the NRA , of fossil fuel industries , and Big Pharma , but not talk about a powerful lobby that is influencing policy?”
Ilhan Omar’s comments on Israel were anything but hateful. What is hateful , is the attempt to smear her as an anti Semite by Islamophobes in the media , like Mark Levin , and in congress. The death threats and the disgusting racist attacks , like the racist poster that was displayed in the West Virginia statehouse , comparing her to a 9/11 terrorist.
There is nothing controversial here. Those who have made it a scandal , have done so in an attempt to smear her as an anti-Semite , to silence her , to discredit her , because she happens to be a Muslim woman , and a Justice Democrat , who has the nerve to criticize the Israeli governments influence on our own government , who refuses to do what the establishment Democrats tell her to do , and refuses to let Republicans bully her. And until Republicans are willing to address the elephant in the room – their own racism , Islamophobia , anti-Semitism , and other forms of bigotry – they have no right to claim a moral high ground.
