Sean Hannity’s panel on racism , which aired on Fox News September 14th , was laughable , ridiculous , and embarrassing. But since it was broadcast on the Fox News channel , it’s not surprising that any of the so-called experts were not embarrassed by any of the ridiculous things they said , and that includes Sean Hannity.
The panel consisted of two women who have bigoted and racist views , so I have no problem with calling them racist. One is Tomi Lahren , and the other is Dr. Gina Loudon , who obviously received her degree form a box of Cracker Jacks. The third was Danielle McGlauglin , a so-called liberal.
Everyone is familiar with Tomi Lahren , the loud mouth conservative commentator who seethes with righteous indignation whenever minorities exercise their first amendment rights. She’s called Black Lives Matter the new KKK and a racist hate group for having the audacity to tell police to stop killing unarmed black people. Maybe not so familiar to some people is Gina Loudon , a quack psychologist , and a regular contributor to several of the worst conservative so-called news sites on the internet , including the worst of the worst , Joseph Farah’s racist , conspiracy filled website World Nut Daily , where many of her ridiculous articles can be found. She once diagnosed Obama as being a psychopath for having the audacity to play golf and take vacations , but has yet to make a similar observation for the current president. That she will never do , since Trump plays for team Republican , and in her eyes can do no wrong.
Hannity started the discussion by whining that Democrats and liberals were unfairly calling Trump and conservatives racists. “The most amazing thing , and I can’t take it anymore , Danielle. I don’t like it that conservatives , that the president – this is a lie , and this is a narrative that happens every two and every four years. Republicans and conservatives , the president are racist , sexist , misogynistic. You know what , stop lying about who we are!
“Tomi , Dr. , we are not racist , nor is the president , nor are the people around him. I’m not saying for the woman ( Jemelle Hill ) to be fired , I’m saying that the left does this every election cycle , and I’ve never heard you say to them , knock it off.”
McGlaughlin ( the supposed liberal ) : ““I’ll say it now. Knock it off. It’s not fair to characterize the president that way. He gave the folks a little bit of red meat with his both sides comment , which in all fairness he did walk back.”
He did finally condemn white supremacists , but the very next day , he once again blamed both sides for the violence in Charlottesville , so it really wasn’t much of a walk back. The right spent the entire eight years of Obama’s presidency obsessed with proving he was racist. Glenn Beck absurdly claimed that he hated white people after Obama’s statement that the Cambridge police officer that arrested Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates had “acted stupidly in arresting someone in their own home.” He was accused of being Americas first racist president , despite the fact that there were other presidents that actually were racist , and was accused of racial division worse than it had been in fifty years , as if the Jim Crow era when black people were second class citizens , was somehow not as divided. He was accused of racism for his comments on the death of Trayvon Martin , when he said that Martin could have been his own son , and that he could have been Martin some years before. The right racially attacked him for eight years on everything from the church he attended , healthcare reform , his connection to ACORN as a community organizer , his birth certificate , Black Lives Matter , to taking vacations and playing golf. But , he was the real racist because he spoke about race , not those who frequently played the race card , conservatives like Loudon and Hannity.
So , if Obama was guilty of radicalism , and racism for associating with reverend Wright and groups like ACORN , then it definitely is fair to characterize Trump as being sympathetic to white nationalist ideology , since he couldn’t even denounce David Duke during his 2016 presidential campaign , his ridiculous defense of civil war statues being removed , his defense of white nationalists in Charlottesville Virginia , the fact that he was sued by the federal government in the early seventies for housing discrimination , his calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five even after they were vindicated , and not to mention , his blatant birtherism.
Hannity : “Tomi , Dr. it’s conservatives when they say anything that’s viewed over the line , oh , fire them , boycott them.”
Lahren : “Well , it’s happened before at ESPN with Curt Shilling , because of a post he made on Facebook ; it was not on the channel. But the repercussion was a little more strict than the talking to they gave to the other hosts. Now I can’t help there’s a double standard , maybe ESPN values diversity but not diversity of opinion. That sounds more correct to me.”
Conservatives have a blind spot when it comes to double standards. They are incapable of detecting their own hypocrisy. Tomi Lahren loves to call liberals sanctimonious hypocrites , but Lahren is without doubt the biggest hypocrite on the planet. She will always defend a Republican when they say something outrageous , but attack and endlessly condemn anyone on the left who says something she doesn’t agree with. Her attacks on Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players are perfect examples of her blatant hypocrisy. For someone who claims to be a champion of free speech , she screams a lot about liberal snowflakes wanting to shut down conservative voices , but when someone says something that triggers her , she will be the first to call for a boycott , or for that person to be fired. Her delicate feelings were recently triggered on twitter when actor Michael McKean tweeted that the people shot in a Texas church “had the prayers shot right out of them.” Ryan Savaadra , a conservative snowflake who writes for the reactionary right-wing website Daily Wire , attempted to get him fired by contacting AMC , and Tomi Lahren re tweeted his ( Savaadra’s ) tweet. So , if there is anyone who doesn’t value a difference of opinion , it’s Tomi Lahren. This is a person who wants anyone who doesn’t worship the flag , to leave America. That’s how much of a triggered snowflake she is. That sounds more correct to me.
Hannity continues : “Dr. Gina , isn’t there something wrong when you’re so willing to lie about other people?”
Loudon : “There’s definitely something wrong with someone going around name calling instead of acting professional.”
This response coming from a conservative like Loudon , almost breaks the projection meter. As a partisan hack , Loudon obviously doesn’t understand what hypocrisy is. She believes only liberals and Democrats are hypocrites. This response to Hannity’s question was not only predictable , but anyone who is familiar with her background would also find it laughable. Loudon has spent the last eight years acting very unprofessional , lying repeatedly and often resorting to name calling when it came to anything Obama or Democrats said and/or did. Like every Obama hater , she frequently attacked the ACA , claiming it to be socialized medicine , that it contained actual death panels , never once being honest enough to admit that the real death panels have always been the private health insurance companies. It was just another excuse to attack a Democratic president for political purposes. She believes every moderate Muslim is a secret terrorist waiting to get out. She literally called Obama a psychopath for having the audacity to vacation and play golf while president. But there is one thing that speaks volumes on Loudon’s state of mind : like her fellow cronies at World Nut Daily , she believes Obama deliberately allowed Ebola into America because he hates it and wants to pay back white America for slavery and racism.
Hannity : “Dr , Gina , I think we conservatives are far more tolerant of free speech and thought , and don’t do boycotts or call for firings. What if something similar had been said during the Obama administration? What would the reaction have been?”
Again , they are totally unaware of their own projection. Something similar had been said when Obama was president. Many, many , many times. They called him a racist who hated white people , who hated police officers because he wouldn’t denounce a legitimate black civil rights group , they called him a socialist , a communist , a Muslim who hated America , who wanted to make it a caliphate with his Muslim Brotherhood buddies , a Nazi over health care reform. None of these people were fired or boycotted.
Loudon : “There’s always an hypocrisy , Sean. And we’re used to it. But here’s the good news. You’ve watched the decay of the leftist media over the last eight to ten years as they spout their bigotry and to be so intolerant , and it’s left a very good place conservative media to fill those voids. I like to say , every time the leftist media spouts their mantra , another conservative gets their wings. And I believe there’s no exception to that.”
This is a woman who writes for some of the worst news outlets on the internet , most of them the very definition of fake news , and conservative news pundits like Loudon , Hannity , and Lahren – who are not even journalists – often whine about mainstream media bias , don’t even realize they themselves are a part of the mainstream they so often complain about , and to suggest that they are more credible than their democratic counterparts , is absurdly laughable. What’s even more laughable is the claim that leftist media has been spouting bigotry and intolerance. The last eight years , it was right-wing media – Loudon , Hannity , and Lahren included – spouting their anti-Muslim , anti-gay , anti-immigrant , and anti-Black Lives Matter intolerance. I haven’t heard anyone on the so-called left spouting bigotry toward anyone. In the warped minds of people like Loudon , if you don’t allow them to be intolerant toward gays , Muslims , and immigrants , you are by definition oppressing them , being intolerant toward them. This is where the catch phrase “the intolerant left” originated from.
Hannity : “Tomi , the left isn’t really tolerant. I’ve seen horrible things about you , Dr. Loudon , myself on social media by these groups funded by Soros types of people.”
Just as Loudon , Lahren , and Hannity have written horrible things about people they don’t like , things they’ve written and said about Colin Kaepernick , Obama , and certain Democrats. But that’s OK. There is no accountability in right-wing media. They can say whatever they want about anyone. It’s only intolerance when so-called leftists criticize anyone on the right.
Lahren : “Of course , I’m someone who’s gone to bat for what I believe in , and I’ve felt the repercussions.”
And what she believes is Black Lives Matter , which is a civil rights group attempting to call attention to police abuse in the black community , is a terrorist , racist hate group like the KKK , even though they haven’t killed anyone , lynched any white people , or burned any crosses on their lawns. She would rather smear a legitimate civil rights organization , than spend a few minutes visiting their website to see what their platform policy is. She’s not only dishonest , she’s lazy.
She believes moderate Muslims are all tomorrow’s terrorists , that Obama and Black Lives Matter were responsible for the five Dallas police officers that were shot and killed in 2016 during a BLM protest , and had accused Obama of having a friendly to jihadis mentality even as he was carrying out a war against ISIS.
McGlaughlin : “I’m a free speech absolutist , like many conservatives , even though I’m not a conservative.”
Hannity : “Many of your fellow liberals are not. Nobody defends me on the left.”
Many conservatives are not free speech absolutists. Hannity is not a free speech absolutist , nor is Tomi Lahren. They claim to be , but how many times have they demonstrated to be just the opposite? A principled free speech absolutist is someone who defends everyone’s right to speak , even if they don’t like or agree with what that person is saying. The ACLU are defenders of free speech. They defend the rights of all to speak freely. People like Sean Hannity and Tomi Lahren do not. All they have ever done is defend the right of their fellow conservatives , and attack liberals and Democrats. How many times has Lahren told Kaepernick and other NFL players to leave America because she doesn’t like what they are doing? The only thing she will defend is their right to shut up and not complain. And when has Hannity ever defended anyone on the left? Never. All he’s ever done is attack , lie , and smear progressives. He’s a partisan hack , a propagandist for the Republican party , and Tomi Lahren is his female counterpart.
Hannity : “Alright , it looks like conservatives are the ones that are open-minded , the ones that believe in freedom.”
If conservatives like Hannity and Lahren are so open-minded , and believe so much in freedom , why are they always the first to attack anyone who has a difference of opinion that contradicts their own talking points? For over a year they’ve attacked NFL athletes as un American , as enemies of freedom and liberty. Perhaps they are not so open minded , and do not believe in freedom so much unless it’s the freedom to dictate to others how they should behave and what they should believe.
